My Philosophy

There was a moment a few months into my career that stuck with me. The bride was getting dressed and putting on the finishing touches- jewelry, shoes, ect. I was shooting some getting ready shots of heartfelt moments between her and her bridesmaids. She felt like she wasn't posing correctly. She felt frazzled and came to me apologizing, "I'm so sorry we're not doing a good job at all of this for your gallery." I was stunned. My response was that there is absolutely no right or wrong way to be on your wedding day. She was the first in a long line of brides and grooms I've worked with that felt pressure for their wedding day to be performative. From that day on I focused on not just the photos, but the experience. I never want a wedding day to feel like a giant photoshoot.

My shooting style is a mix of documentary with prompts and posing as needed. One of my favorite things is capturing candid moments, but I definitely leave room for Pinterest photos or staged moments my couples are dreaming of. For portraits I will always guide you the whole way through with prompts and posing. That being said, I will never interrupt a candid, authentic moment on your wedding day.

My goal is for my couples to be as present as possible on their special day, and have memories frozen in time to look back on. If you are having an amazing experience, your photos will be beautiful and authentically joyful.
